Abstract
In this paper we present the conceptual pivots of an infrastructure for computer based education systems named SOSCA (Subject based Objects of Source and Curriculum Architecture). The key issues of this infrastructure are: a- it is object-oriented; b- learning subjects are the main objects; c- no programming is required for any course development; d- all related agents in the education (teachers, students, course designers, administrative agents) are abstractly independent of each other; e- suitable environment and tools are prepared for all types of related agents; and f- a suitable sharing environment is prepared. We show that this infrastructure overcomes the current usual problems in computer based education (CBE) systems, and can move the CBE from research and laboratory environment, to commercial and social learning domain. Based on this infrastructure for testing purposes, a prototype of CBE systemو called MESBAH, is implemented and reported briefly here.
